Chris brings with him 35 years’ experience in academia. A Professor Emeritus, he served as a faculty member, chairman and professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at Ryerson University specializing in information technologies, instrumentation, power and biomedical electronics and electrical engineering. Chris has served as lead investigator for the University Research Industrial Fund (URIF) research projects. Chris’ ability to resolve contentious issues with CRA drives from his experience as an Outside Consultant (O/C) to the agency for 10 years in the fields of IT, mechanical engineering, communications and biomedical electronics. During his tenure with CRA, Chris reviewed over 400 projects for the agency, conducted a QOS evaluation of the SR&ED operations at an Ontario Tax Service Office. Chris was one of two consultants from Ontario invited to serve on a Large File Software Review SR&ED HQ team, as well as being selected to serve on CRA’s Dispute Resolution Panel engaged in mediating SR&ED disputes between claimants and CRA. CRA has also employed Chris as an Expert Witness in the Tax Court of Canada.Chris has been retained by a big four accounting house to provide SR&ED technical and legal expertise, and has served in Canadian courts as an expert witness on the number of occasions. Through his consulting company, Chris has over 20 years experience designing, developing and manufacturing intelligent instrumentation and control systems for customers including the U.S. Air Force and the Canadian Ministry of Transport.
